Further measures to overcome COVID-19

On Sunday, the UAE announced people of determination will be able to be tested for COVID-19 from their homes via the National Program for Home Screening for People of Determination.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, revealed the programme was instigated as part of further procedures to combat the spreading of coronavirus.

The home screening process is for those who are not able to visit the various testing centres which are now available throughout the UAE.

“As the UAE continues to work to prevent the spread of COVID-19, I applaud todays launch of the National Home Testing Program for people of determination” Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed said via his official Twitter account.

“It is essential that the UAE continues to ensure all segments of the community have adequate access to testing facilities.”

Last month, drive-through testing centres were launched. The necessary checks for COVID-19 are carried out within approximately five minutes. The centre is able to carry out approximately 600 tests daily, and is available during the hours of 8am until 8pm throughout the week.

Priority of the examination is given to those who have symptoms, senior citizens, pregnant women and those who suffer from chronic illnesses.
