Eid Mubarak to all…

It’s officially going to be a four-day weekend in the UAE for Eid Al Fitr 2025.

After the UAE moon sighting committee spotted the crescent moon on Saturday March 29, the first day of Eid will be Sunday March 30. The Eid public holiday will be from Sunday until Tuesday April 1, with work resuming on Wednesday, April 2.

That means that for those already enjoying their Saturday-Sunday weekend, it’s a four-day break in the UAE.

What is Eid Al Fitr?

Eid Al Fitr, which means ‘festival of the breaking of the fast’ is the holiday celebrated at the end of Ramadan.

When is the next public holiday?

If you’re already thinking about when we’ll next be getting a long weekend break, then the Eid Al Adha dates are what you need to know. Eid Al Adha is scheduled for three days in the month of Dhu Al Hijjah. The specific dates are confirmed based on lunar observations. Additionally, one day each is allocated for Arafat Day and the Islamic New Year, Muharram 1.

For 2025, Arafat Day is anticipated on Friday May 30, leading to Eid Al Adha celebrations likely to be around Saturday May 31 to Wednesday June 2. So, another long weekend is just two months away.
