As coronavirus cases have dropped to the lowest numbers of the year, the UAE has announced the easing of some face mask rules.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention and National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority released a statement outlining the updated guidelines.

Masks are no longer required to be worn in the following scenarios:
- In a private enclosed space or car with the same individuals with individuals from the same house.
- While exercising outside.
- While at the beach or at the pool.
- At hair salons and barber shops.
Despite the easing of the face mask rules, social distancing of two metres must still be adhered to.
Per the NCEMA and the Ministry of Health, the decision was made “after monitoring the noticeable decrease in the number of injuries in the country as a result of the success of national efforts in the investigation of injuries and the availability of multiple vaccines”.
This announcement of rules easing comes ahead of Dubai Expo 2020 which is set to launch in less than 10 days.
