Check out a just-opened spa
Nothing beats the squeaky-clean freshness of a brand-new spa, which is why we’re keen to check out Iridium ASAP. The St Regis Dubai, at Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, has just opened its spa (the second Iridium in the city), and is offering Dhs100 off any treatment booked in June. And you don’t have to use it right away – you can book now and visit any time until December. There are two female treatment rooms, two male treatment rooms and two couples’ spa suites on site, plus a steam room, sauna, gym and pool. We’re eyeing up the specially-designed, equestrian-themed massages…
Iridium Spa, St. Regis Dubai, Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, Wadi Al Safa 5, Dubai, open daily 9am to 9pm. Tel: (04) 435 4440. iridiumspadubaipoloresort.com.
Break your fast in a rather unusual location…
If you’ve always dreamed of being onstage, here’s your chance (well, kind of). For a limited time, Dubai Opera will be transforming its magnificent auditorium into a banquet hall fit for a five-star Iftar. As it’s a rather musical setting, there’ll also be classical and Arabic melodies accompanying the meal, thanks to a trio on harp, flute and percussion.
Dubai Opera, Downtown Dubai, Dubai, June 14 to 25, sundown to 9.30pm. Dhs250 per person, or Dhs220 for group booking of 11 guests or more. Children under 6 eat for free, Dhs125 for children aged between 6 and 11. Tel: (04) 4408888. dubaiopera.com.

Shop some Ramadan-ready threads
The Holy Month seems like the perfect time to stock up on your collection of abayas and Arab-inspired accessories, and the Outlet Village is making it even easier with their Ramadan pop-up. Until June 30, you’ll find designs from eight Middle Eastern labels at a special-edition bazaar, including Sheikha Hend Al Qassimi’s House of Hend, Sahar Madani and Shatha Essa. So if you’re still after something special for your Eid Al Fitr celebrations, you might want to check this out.
Bazaar Al Rakya, The Outlet Village, Jebel Ali, Dubai, open daily until June 30, 12pm to 12am. Tel: (04) 317 3999. theoutletvillage.ae.

Check out some sweet new tech
Been eyeing up Dyson’s super-futuristic new hairdryer? Yeah, us too. And now, with the launch of the gadget brand’s Demo store in The Dubai Mall (the first in the MENA region, in fact), you’ll get a chance to try before you buy at the in-store salon station. You can basically trial all of Dyson’s products in this new store, and book a free appointment to have a hair stylist show you how to use the Supersonic Dryer. Shopping and a blowdry? We’re sold.
Level 2, The Dubai Mall, Downtown Dubai, open Sun to Mon 10am to 11pm (10am to 2am during Ramadan). Tel: (04) 362 7500. dyson.ae.
