Dreaming of Ibiza

Bring bohemian wanderlust into your home by brightening up your wardrobe with the lates collaboration between LOEWE and Paula’s Ibiza.

The famed cult store on the Balearic island has once again lent it’s creative flair to the Spanish luxury house, delivering a capsule that focuses on one of the biggest trends this season – tie-dye.

“I’ve always said that Paula’s Ibiza embodies the spirit of letting go,” explains creative director of LOEWE, Jonathan Anderson. “In this collection that ecstatic abandon is total: part rave, part cyberdog, in acidic neons, faded olive greens and borderline hues of scarlet, sunrise orange and midnight blue.”

When Anderson dove into the archives of the store, founded by Armin Heinemann and Stuart Rudnick, he stumbled upon some of their iconic prints that were inspired by nature. Among the mermaids, waterlilies, jikin goldfish and red corals, tie-dye dominates in all it’s bright and swirling glory.

Used across maxi-dresses, T-shirts and explorer hats, the hero motif of the season was captured by photographer Gray Sorrenti in New Delhi, as models danced at private parties in Dilliwalen havelis, and rode scooters and tuk-tuks along rarely seen corners of the capital’s streets.

In addition to tie-dye, you can also shop wide-hemmed capri pants, bolero skirts and swimwear. The wide range of prints carries on in the accessories: puzzles, totes, cushions, pouches and bumbags, and also caps and visors.

“The feel is about a summery, playful ease, part leisurewear—long linen tunics, cropped dungarees and bleached jeans—part classic summer staples—striped aprés-swim overshirts and soft terry tees,” says Anderson.

Reflective silver trousers, spiky tops and mini-bomber jackets, complete with day-glo sandals and acetate sunglasses hint more clearly at clubwear. Accessories are just as playful: leather mini bags in the shape of octopuses, dolphins and whales; earring and charms in the form of seahorses and stars, and calf leather fans.

The same liveliness is captured in Paula Ibiza’s debut fragrance for both men and women; a spontaneous and carefree composition distinguished by a playful dynamic between opposing notes of warm ambergris and fresh coconut water. Summer in a bottle.

Not only will these pieces make you feel holiday ready, but you will also be contributing to an important cause. To ensure a better future for children in socially vulnerable groups affected by COVID-19, LOEWE will be donating €40 (Dhs159) to educational projects for every product sold in the Paula’s Ibiza fashion collection between May and August 2020 in LOEWE stores and on loewe.com, starting with an initial donation of €500,000 (Dhs1.9 million).
