Fashion designer and son of Sharjah ruler passed away in London.
The Ministry of Presidential Affairs confirmed three days of national official mourning, following the death of Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi.

The 39-year-old son of the ruler of Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, and designer of fashion label Qasimi passed away in London on July 1. Family received condolences from across the country and flags have been ordered to fly at half-mast.
Announcing the sad news on Instagram, representatives of his eponymous label wrote: “His goal was to create a world of beautifully crafted products infused with cultural, social and political undertones to inform and inspire.”

Qasimi studied in the UK where he earned a degree in architectural studies at the Association School of Architecture. As well as chairing the Sharjah Urban Planning Council and working on Sharjah Architecture Triennial, the Emirati creative had a significant impact on the fashion world.
He launched his menswear label based in London in 2008 and became the first Khaleeji designer to showcase his collection during Paris Fashion Week.
Funeral prayers would be held at 9am on Wednesday at King Faisal Mosque in the emirate.
