All of the happy couples who chose to get married in 2020 have not had it easy, to put it lightly.

The global pandemic has put a stop to nuptials at home and abroad and had a significant impact on the planning industry as a whole. So to help boost morale, we take a closer look at an award-winning wedding that took place in the city last year.

The 13th edition of Belief Awards – an online contest for wedding planners and designers – has analysed some of the best weddings from around the world in 2019 to put together a shortlist of 31 of the most beautiful celebrations of love. Naturally, Dubai has made the cut.

The wedding planners Rahul Kumar and Arun Bablani, from Vivaah Weddings, were awarded in two categories for putting on a three-day celebration. The couple Prerna and Shaun, both from Indian descent, wanted a glamorous setting filled with tradition.

It started with a welcome dinner and afterparty on the first day, followed by Mehendi afternoon and Sangeet evening on the second day, and finally, on the third day, was the actual wedding ceremony followed by a reception.

The wedding was held at the massive hospitality complex of Habtoor City which comprises three world-class hotel properties. While all the 350 guests were hosted at the opulent Habtoor Palace, the events were spread across venues at Hilton, V Hotel, and Habtoor Palace.

Other weddings that made the list include an intimate ceremony in Costa Rica, a stylish wedding in Santorini, Greece, and vibrant vineyard nuptials in South Africa.
