The royal, who last month became “the first woman to lead a federation” for sport in Saudi Arabia, won the title thanks to her role in empowering women through her entrepreneurial spirit and philanthropic efforts, Gulf Business reports.

Prior to her current role as President of the Saudi Federation for Community Sports, Princess Reema headed up a department for women under the Kingdom’s General Authority for Sports.

She revealed on Twitter that she was “very proud” to receive the award, thanking her country and its leadership for all the support and funding in the sports industry.

“It means a lot to me and my fellow countrywomen, and it encourages us to work even harder for our nation,” Princess Reema added.
