As fragrances continue to be the ultimate form of self-expression, L’Artisan Parfumeur’s latest collection entitled ‘L’Orient’ is inspired by the opulence of the Middle East.

By embodying native ingredients in this collection, the fragrances are created with Turkish rose, saffron, cedar and incense to produce different levels of intensity.

Created by perfumer Christophe Raynaud, the collection was created to infuse oriental elements. From the Middle East’s opulence to its earthy colours, the collection is nothing short of an ode to the region’s olfactory history.

To design the collection Christophe started with a raw form, which was worked upon for hours, giving a bespoke shape to his creations.

“At first I am the architect and then I become the craftsman,” says the master perfumer.

Oud has been a prominent aspect of the Arabian fragrance landscape since ancient times. The collection couldn’t do without its ‘Ode à l’Oudh’ fragrance which has a flavoured simplicity to it with woody nuances. Combined with floral accents and hints of saffron, this scent is sure to capture its roots in a new light.

The other scents which are a part of the collection include Fables d’Orient with miraculous flower milk infused with notes of amber, Légendes du Cèdre with woody nectar and patchouli, Contes du Levant with a Turkish rose and the warmth of pepper and Bois des Sables with precious woods and a hint of vanilla.
