The Dubai branch of 1 OAK (the name of which stems from the phrase ‘one of a kind’) will open its doors in Business Bay’s JW Marriott Marquis on Tuesday March 6, taking over the space that used to house VIP Room.

It’s an invitation-only party, and we still don’t know who’ll be performing, but the festivities will continue on Thursday and Friday nights. Those two will be open to the public.

It will join other 1 OAK venues in New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, who’ve also welcomed Jay-Z and Almost Famous star Kate Hudson as clientele.

“With the launch of 1 OAK, we are starting a new era for Dubai’s nightlife scene – combining art, culture and music for an alternative and luxurious experience,” said Richie Akiva, founder of the nightspot.

“We wanted to create something unique, while maintaining style and substance, for Dubai’s elite social crowd.”

The renders of the club don’t disprove Akiva’s statement, with glitzy installations, slick black interiors and avant-garde lighting.

1 OAK promise a “line-up of international artists” will jet in for the launch, as well as many of its celebrity fans.
