The Dubai Mall destination is Trevor Sorbie’s first in the entire Middle East.

He’s styled the locks of Grace Jones, Helen Mirren and The Beatles—and now one of the UK’s most renowned hairdressers is bringing his signature cuts to Dubai.

Trevor Sorbie, who’s responsible for definitive looks such as the 1980s ‘scrunch’ and the ‘wedge’, has opened his salon in The Dubai Mall today.

The Trevor Sorbie salon is in the shopping destination’s Fashion Avenue extension, and online bookings are available now.

The salon will be open from 10am to midnight, seven days a week, according to the site.

“We are absolutely thrilled to bring the Trevor Sorbie brand to the UAE and even more so to be opening our very first salon in the incredible Dubai Mall,” Sorbie said in a statement.

“We understand that Dubai is a cosmopolitan city full of people wanting to look their best and with that in mind, we have selected some of our most talented hairdressers, or artists as we like to call them, to show Dubai why my salons are the destination for great hair, not just in the UK but all over the world.”

Sorbie has more than 50 years experience in the industry, starting out as an apprentice at his father’s barber shop, before moving to work as a stylist for the famed Vidal Sassoon.

The Scottish hairdresser also worked for Toni & Guy and John Frieda before opening his first eponymous salon in London in 1979.

Sorbie, who has his own line of hair products and was awarded a MBE in 2004, has also been named British Hairdresser of the Year four times.

As the man behind many distinctive styles, Sorbie’s salons specialise in creating wearable yet trend-setting looks for clients, celebrity and otherwise.
