What do the first 30 minutes of your day look like, your morning routine?
Each morning, I take my daughter from her cot at around 6am and we enjoy some time together with my wife. Later, we then have breakfast before I head off to work.
What should a consultation patient expect during their first session prior to the surgery?
The first consultation is the most important step before surgery. I try to be always as clear as possible by explaining all the pros and cons of a surgery to my patients and by suggesting the best solution for each case.

Is there an optimal age for seeing a plastic/cosmetic surgery procedure? How old is too old?
Apart from a few exceptions, for example, prominent ears, we shouldn’t treat patients under eighteen years of age. There is never too old, but I always take into consideration priorities and reality, for example the patient must be in a healthy status and shouldn’t aim for eternal youth.
What are the most common misconceptions about going under the knife or getting filler and anti-wrinkle injections?
The most common misconception about going under the knife is often anesthesia, as sometimes patients are concerned about this whilst most of the time it’s a relatively pain-free journey. Regarding getting filler or botox, some of the time, patients think that this can be a substitute for surgery, but in most cases is not the case.
How has the world of social media influenced plastic surgery as a hold?
The world of social media has completely changed the plastic surgery world. There are often many expectations due to digital filters which don’t reflect reality. It’s the job of the surgeon and the skill to show a patient what the reality is or could be and most importantly act responsibly when doing so.

Reconstructive plastic surgery can change people’s lives in terms of confidence. Can you share your experience of this?
Giving the opportunity to a child to smile doesn’t have a price and it’s incredibly satisfying to really make a difference in someone’s life. Reconstructive procedures help people to re-establish the physiological status of their bodies. When talking about congenital deformities, accidents, mutilations, burns, cancers and much more. But the best thing is that reconstructive surgery finds a place in all surgical specialties, allowing the surgeon to cooperate with other specialists learning always something new…at least it should be like that!
What are the main precautions to focus on after a surgery?
The precautions change surgery by surgery but the most important thing is to follow the surgeon’s direction and refer to him/her for anything that happens after the surgery.
What is the recovery timeline for a standard procedure?
The recovery time for a standard procedure is normally between 7 to 10 days, depending on the surgery.
Are there any beauty trends in the Middle East that differ from the rest of the world?
Body contouring is one of the most common trends in the Middle East. Patients in general want to achieve the perfect shape when focusing on the breast and hips. This is often a combination of liposuction, hi-definition liposuction and mommy makeovers.
