We’ll take one of each, thank you so much.
One of the major advantages of living in Dubai is our airport’s status as a travel hub. More than most places, it’s easy to visit some truly spectacular spots from here.
We’re particularly interested in destinations that don’t involve layovers, though. Who’s got time to deplane? We’ve got pools to be lounging beside.

Here are the holidays you can look forward to in the UAE for 2018
Flydubai will start flying direct from DXB to two new European destinations next year: Krakow, in Poland, and Catania in Sicily.
So, whether you’re after a look around an underrated cultural hub (Krakow) or a Sicilian beach holiday (Catania), you’re pretty much sorted.
The flights to Krakow start next April, with Catania kicking off in June. Right now there are seats to Krakow available for Dhs2,235 that month, with a flight time of six hours. Catania is about the same, with a flight time of six hours and a price tag of Dhs2,225.
Flydubai is the first UAE airline to go direct to these two spots, so we’re thinking they’ll be popular. Six hours is pretty doable, too. These aren’t long-haul destinations.
This latest comes after Emirates and Flydubai revealed the first 45 destinations that will be part of their codesharing agreement (including Prague, Istanbul and Tbilisi). They’re hoping to fly to 240 destinations by 2022.
Itchy feet, anyone?
