A classic combination

It seems only yesterday when the fashion pack swapped their high heels for statement sneakers. In fact it’s been 10 years since the humble sporting shoe became the most coveted item across major designers, as well as our wardrobes.

As much as fashion weaves in and out of trends, so do the trainers. From classic Stan Smiths and lace up high-tops, to decorative Gucci kicks and chunky soled Balenciagas, it’s no surprise that this is a category every brand is exploring.

Those who were surprised by the sudden influx shouldn’t have been, it’s a simple style that’s versatile which naturally brings us to one of our favourite combinations – jeans and sneakers.

The laid back combination is our go-to on weekends when styled with a simple T-shirt, and even for work (if you have a relaxed dress code) when you add a sharp blazer.

Right now we are all drawn to wide-leg denim (boyfriend or mom) so if you fall into that camp we suggest going for slimmer sneakers to balance out the volume. But don’t be afraid to inject a little bit of colour to your shoes like Kylie Jenner.
