As New Year’s Eve celebrations are just on the horizon, certain parts of Dubai will be closed until the end of the last day of the year. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) made this announcement as part of preparations for the special day.

Al Asayel Road from Oud Street to Al Meydan Street will be closed from 4pm onwards to be specifically used for public transportation and emergency vehicles. Furthermore, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard Street will also be shut from 4pm, after the parking is full. The RTA also advised those with any reservations in the vicinity to make it in time before 4pm, to avoid any inconvenience.

In addition, Financial Center Road will be closed from 4pm, while Al Sukook Street will close at 8pm. Future Street will be closed in the crossing between Business Bay street and Financial Center Street in phases between 6-8pm.

In cooperation with the Dubai Police, the RTA operational team will be present in all the necessary locations to ensure effective distribution is there. The Burj Khalifa metro station will also be closed from 5pm on December 31 until 6am on January 1 with a special crossing zone for pedestrians to cross Sheikh Zayed Road near the station.
