Sweet Child O’Mine is many a karaoke fan’s track of choice – and now you’ll have a chance to sing along with the American rockers themselves.

Guns N’ Roses are all set to play their first ever gig in Dubai next year, and it’s not just your average concert either.

The group are hitting the Emirates as part of their Not In This Lifetime tour – the first tour where the original band-members have played together since the 1990s.

Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan will all take to the Autism Rocks Arena stage on March 3, where they’ll be joined by Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Frank Ferrer and Melissa Reese, who’ve all joined the band since it was first formed.

Axl and Slash haven’t shared a stage since a Buenos Aires gig in 1993, so this year’s reformation is huge news. Guns N’ Roses first played together again at this year’s Coachella festival in California, but this will be their first tour with the original members.

The band first formed in 1985, and it didn’t take them long to become huge – their first album, released in 1987, is still the best-selling US debut ever with 30 million copies snapped up.

They’re responsible for a ream of hits, including November Rain, Paradise City and Welcome to the Jungle, so expect plenty to sing along to when they play in the UAE.

Though it’s their first concert with the original line-up, it’s not the first time some members have performed in Dubai.

Axl Rose, who continued to tour under the Guns N’ Roses name, last played in the UAE on Yas Island in 2013, and Slash and McKagan performed in Dubai in 2008 as part of the group Velvet Revolver. Slash also gigged in Dubai in 2012 as a soloist.

How do I get tickets?

The show’s expected to be a sell-out, so you probably want to be fast.

“This is not going to be a 75 minutes with encore show. This is going to be a two-hour hard rock show full of all the hits,” Thomas Ovesen, CEO of event organisers 117Live, told Gulf News.

Tickets will go on sale within the next fortnight, but you can pre-register (click here) to make sure you get an email as soon as they’re released.
