Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai will celebrate its first festive season in style with an unconventional Christmas tree designed by fashion legend and one of Mandarin Oriental’s celebrity fans, Kenzo Takada. The seven-metre high creative Christmas tree will be located in the outdoor area of the resort and will be unveiled on December 10.
Souk Madinat Jumeirah
If you’re spending the holidays in Dubai then you simply can’t miss the Festive Market that returns to Souk Madinat Jumeirah for an extended 16-day run from 13 to 28 December. But don’t worry, the tree will be up and glowing and you can watch the ceremony on December 11 hosted by MC, Kris Fade, with a high-octane elf show and an eight-person Christmas carol choir. From 6pm onwards.
Fairmont The Palm

One of the most anticipated Christmas tree lighting ceremonies of the season takes place at Fairmont The Palm, and it’s a festive bonanza. Mark December 9 in your diary and make sure to get there before the lights go on at 6pm. You will be entertained by children’s choir from Dubai Performing Arts while the kids can get involved in gingerbread making. Make sure to check out musical Santa’s grotto. Grown-ups can get merry with eggnog or mulled wine, and there’ll be complimentary mince pies and turkey dinner samples.
Bam Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa
Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa will be hosting a spectacular tree lighting ceremony on December 6, from 6pm to 7.30pm. Expect a children’s choir, winter goodies, a seasonal souq and delicious beverages. The memorable night will be commemorated with a Christmas dance and a showstopping fireworks display. Admission for kids is Dhs50, with free entrance for adults accompanying children.
Jumeirah Emirates Towers

Jumeirah Emirates Towers lights up for the festive season with its annual tree lighting ceremony on Thursday December 5 from 6pm. Get merry and celebrate the magical occasion with delicious canapés and refreshments whilst watching the Christmas tree come alight. Santa Claus is also set to make a grand entrance via the iconic elevators, armed with a sack full of gifts for the little ones.
