Roberto’s has quickly gained a reputation as the ‘it’ spot to dine in Dubai. Part eatery and part lounge the DIFC hotspot offers haute Italian cuisine in a chic setting.
DÉCOR
Roberto’s is all white tablecloths, towering orchid displays, plush seating and people watching – it definitely has the most glamorous patrons in town! The glittering Burj Khalifa lends itself to the incredible view, best enjoyed when sat on the outdoor terrace. In the warmer months, take a table inside and bask in the elegant interiors.
After a trip to the stylish ladies room, we discovered a convenient powder room, ideal for those date-night touch ups.
AMBIENCE
Thanks to the fairly young crowd, a hum of animated chatter filled the restaurant. However, those looking for a low-key evening don’t fear, this spot is anything but rowdy.
FOOD
We began with the Beef Carpaccio, we were told it was a light choice and it was. We found it juicy and the parmesan shavings added a welcome salty touch. It was the perfect dish to wet our appetite, leaving us craving more… that was until the bread basket arrived. Filled with beautifully rustic slices and a trio of dips on the side the sundried tomato paste was a favourite.
The mains arrived – a Filetto Di Vitello and a simple margarita pizza.
The pan-seared veal tenderloin exceeded even the greediest expectations, we found it wonderfully succulent and flavourful, complimented by the creamy mushroom sauce and serving of tomato and mushroom tart.
But the real star of the show was the pizza. We opted for a classic Margarita, a modest choice that didn’t fail. The simple yet fresh ingredients sat on a thin crust – simply delicious. Infact we’d go as far saying, this is the best pizza in the region and that is a statement!
The meal was complete after a few scoops of sorbet – we loved the lemon.
And finito! We left feeling pleasantly full and Roberto’s newest fans.
WHY BOTHER?
Stylish and smart without being pretentiously so, expect no snootiness here. All are welcome but a reservation is advised. To no surprise of ours, Roberto’s books up, especially come Friday and Saturday.
GO FOR
A memorable meal to share with any loved one.
WEAR
Something suitably chic to suit the surroundings. Jeans are acceptable but team with a tailored blazer and your highest heels.
