THE LOW DOWN
Meydan Beach has serious style. If Karl Lagerfeld had a private pool and beach (which he probably does) we imagine it would look like this. Slick white loungers, which look out to the crashing waves of the vast Gulf Sea, surround a large infinity pool decorated in dark blue tiles, offering an incredibly modern monochrome colour scheme.
Those wanting to up the tanning ante can place floating sunbeds at the edge of the pool. Alternatively unwind at the giant Jacuzzi while taking in the best vistas Dubai Marina’s stunning skyline has to offer.
All day service from the infinity pool bar allows you to completely indulge. Sink into your lounger, dig out that book you never have time to read, and order a drink. From classic beverages to creative mocktails and decadent cocktails, you can literally while away the hours.
Though food isn’t served at the loungers, you can treat your palate at Giannino restaurant where the menu is catered more toward the fashion crowds with healthy options aplenty, even the mini burgers are served with a more health conscious pumpkin chips. Flavours are exquisite and portions generous so don’t go too crazy at the breadbasket, but don’t avoid it either – there’s some seriously great dough to be sampled.
Throughout the day a soulful and chill out soundtrack is played making the experience all the more chic and exclusive.
So hip is this venue that you don’t have to leave come the evening – the party comes to you. With Café del Mar opening at 6pm (the beach/pool closes at 7pm), slip on your kaftan and let the fun continue…
THE USP
As with most beach clubs, towels and loungers are free. Opt for a Signature Sunscreen Application Massage at the on site spa. Not only will the therapist apply sun lotion on you in a private treatment room but they will do so while massaging your limbs – sun lotion application has never been so blissful. It may sound decadent but it avoids any nasty suntan streaks as they don’t miss a spot and you can start your lounging experience with a stress-free attitude. The treatment costs Dhs100 or Dhs150 if you opt for the after sun massage too – highly recommended.
