After enduring several weeks of limp locks, EW’s Assistant Online Editor Annah took her tresses for a nourishing Redken treatment and blow-dry at Sisters Beauty Lounge.
THE SALON
The salon is tucked away by one of the valet parking entrances of the mall, making it easy to slip in and out of incognito, which avoids bumping into anyone pre-beautify – always a plus!
Similar to the other branches, Sisters at MOE follows a neutral palette of white, cream and beige with dark wood accents. Vases of calla lilies sit atop mani/pedi and styling stations and, unlike many other salons, there is a hearty stack of up-to-date glossies on hand to keep you occupied while getting groomed.
THE TREATMENT
Despite arriving early for my appointment, I was immediately greeted and whisked off to the shampoo station.
Happily ensconced in a squishy leather armchair, Farah, my hair stylist, arrived for a pre-treatment consultation. One glimpse of my heavily highlighted tresses and Farah suggested that I opt for a mix of Redken’s Colour Extend, Smooth Lock and All Soft Shot Paste Treatments.
The Shot Pastes are not your average at-home hair mask. These highly concentrated formulas are for professional use only and contain a potent mix of scientific ingredients to get your tresses in tip-top shape ASAP.
A wash and heavenly head massage later, the treatment was applied.
After leaving to set for a few minutes, it was rinsed and I was ushered to the blow-dry bar, where I settled on a Victoria Secret-style ‘do – voluminous, shiny waves.
THE RESULT
The before and after was remarkable. My limp locks were gone and in their place, bouncy, glossy locks that lasted well into the night, and even the next day.
Two weeks later and the results are still evident.
This will be a new addition to my monthly beauty routine – bon voyage bad hair days!
