Sleek decor, smart clientele with posh sips and nibbles, it’s hard to believe that Ember is actually in a mall (well in a hotel attached to a mall to be precise) it’s far too sophisticated, but heck, we’re not complaining. It makes shopping at The Dubai Mall that more exciting.
DECOR
While the restaurant part is all chic creams and mauve, the bar has a moodier, modern edge with yellows and greys creating the predominate colour scheme.
Subtle lightly further creates a mood of mystique and romance. It’s the perfect lighting that means even if you go post work no one will see how tired you look.
Stylish bar stools line the bar, tables for two scatter across the lounge and wall sofas provide a great social area for drinking with friends.
AMBIENCE
The bar is attached to Ember Grill whose music spills through providing the entertainment, which can range from smooth jazz on Thursdays to upbeat Brazilian tunes on Fridays.
Not the busiest of bars but that can be a welcome relief from the usual rammed offerings in the region. Pack a pashmina, however, they love the air conditioning here, creating an Artic-esque atmosphere.
WHY BOTHER
It’s location in The Address Dubai Mall and position so close to Fashion Avenue makes it ideal for post-shopping wind down. It’s also popular with the post-work crowd making the most from its 7pm–9pm happy hour (buy one get on free on select drinks).
GO FOR
Social drinks at the start of the night or a quiet few after a hard day at work.
For refined smokers, every Wednesday from 7pm–11pm is Casa de los Habanos night where promotions include an exclusive buy one get one free offer on cigars.
