Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the ever hectic JBR lies a newcomer to the bar scene, Chinwaggery.
Being a resident of Dubai’s busiest beach strip, we couldn’t wait to explore the latest addition to my neighbourhood…
AMBIENCE
Set adjacent to the usually busy brunch venue The Talk, is Chinwaggery, a bar with a name which in its simplest form, means to have a chin wag or rather a chat.
Soft amber lights immediately give off a calm and welcoming vibe- a welcome relief after a busy day in a brightly lit office.
DÉCOR
Chinwaggery takes its cue from the Big Apple, with a set up that screams understated elegance. Dark wood ties in nicely with the low lighting and the comfy sofas are perfect to sink into as you catch up with friends.
The bar extends out over the terrace so you can make the most of the cooler weather while soaking up the atmosphere of JBR.
WHY BOTHER?
Chinwaggery differs from other bars in the area in that it shies away from being either a sports bar or a beach bar.
It feels cosy, yet chic and the warm and welcoming staff were only too happy to take us through the drinks menu, which boasts an impressive range of grape.
GO FOR
As the name suggests, this is the perfect venue for a post work gossip with friends.
Simply bag yourself a sofa, and chin wag away without having to shout over loud music or football in the background.
WEAR
It may be situated beside the beach but turn up in flip flops and you are bound to feel out of place.
That being said, there’s no need to break out the ball gown the emphasis is on feeling comfortable while socialising, so opt for a pretty tea dress and ballet pumps.
