We all know DIFC is a melting pot of chic dining options battling it out to attract Dubai’s It crowd and although Caramel has been around for a few years now, it still manages to host a stylish gathering of loyal regulars.

A Las Vegas export it’s surprising to find such a sophisticated and low key setting. Filling up with suits for post-work drinks, the night brings dinner dates and groups of designer clad guests ready to feast upon their contemporary American fair.

Unlike other spots, Caramel creates delicious dishes without being overly pretentious. There is the occasional drop of truffle oil but the remainder of the menu is full of moreish dishes with a gourmet twist.

It really is easy to see why they are planning to expand with a few more eateries opening soon around the Middle East and abroad.

DÉCOR

The second you enter it becomes very clear why Caramel declares itself as a Restaurant and Lounge. From sleek couches and bar tables for mingling, to low tables that open up to a terrace in the cooler months, there’s plenty of options to suit every need.

Dim lighting and sleek interiors only add to the sophisticated vibe, where glamorous hostesses saunter, making sure you’re never left with an empty glass.

A DJ spins some seriously cool songs and well-loved tunes depending on the day of the week. From Signature Sundays with Paul Hamilton to nineties nights on a Tuesday, followed by packed out Thursday’s as the night moves on so do the beats.

FOOD

It’s obvious from the second you pick up the menu that you’re going to be spoilt for choice. Offering a medley of contemporary American eats the only way to get around not missing out is by sharing a selection of everything!

TNT shrimp and the truffle-infused mac & cheese dipping sticks are the most lusted items on the starter list while the black cod and beef carpaccio can only be described as epic. There is also a mouth-watering selection of sushi and salads ready to be devoured.

From sliders that are so good it wouldn’t surprise us if they had their own fan base to a selection of pasta, fish and super tender meat mains the choice is almost impossible. This is without considering the sides, which include their famed truffle French fries, and some of the best-creamed spinach you’ll find in Dubai.

Last, but by no means least, desserts are sweet and scrumptious. Chocolate fondant, which sends your taste buds into overdrive, competes with a hard-to-beat baked Alaska. What’s more we suggest keeping the cocktail list at hand as you’ll want to try as many of these classy concoctions as you can.

WHY BOTHER?

A sophisticated atmosphere teamed with food that will satisfy any craving. Need we say more?
