Valentino’s Autumn/Winter 2020-21 collection is all about the power of what makes humans different, also brings humanity together.

With strong tailoring, black leather and the colour grey, Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli promotes equality in humanity with uniform dressing.

However, the interesting juxtaposition of the collection is that while uniformity normally intends to erase individuality, the pieces intend to bring individuality to the forefront by showcasing the true mannerisms of an individual, their gestures and their splendour.

As for bags, the Valentino Garavani Atelier Rose Edition bag encompasses the couture craft of the Maison with 90 manually cut leather petals creating a one-of-a-kind three-dimensional piece.

The bags are created using five different sizes of petals to give dimension and movement to the embroidery.

Through Piccioli’s design, the techniques used to create the bag pays tribute to how seamstresses would historically create couture pieces – the true heart of the Maison.

With there being a total of 90 leather petals per bag, the tridimensional rose bag takes an estimated 10.5 hours to create.

The colour palette available for the iconic handbag is as follows: Ivory, Black, Red, Rubin and Rose Cannelle.

It pays tribute to the true craftsmanship of Valentino – something that has always been at the heart of the Italian Maison.

The collection launches at Valentino’s Fashion Avenue flagship at The Dubai Mall today, October 8, 2020, and will be available at all Valentino boutiques. EW invites all of our readers to go to see this incredible collection in person.
