The latest Ferrari Roma Spider, a 2+ spider comes with an exquisite soft top made out of a bespoke fabric available in multiple options and it can be opened in just 13.5 seconds and speeds up to 60 km/h.
On 16th March, 2023, the newest model from the Maranello marque, was previewed to the clients during a special event at the El Badi Palace in Marrakesh. Inspired by the luxe Italian lifestyle in the 1950s and 60s, the beast of an automobile has been given a more contemporary treatment. The Spider version is similar in proportions, volumes and specifications of Ferrari Roma’s popular V8 2+ concept, but what distincts the two is the newly adapted soft top.
With its 620cv, twin-turbo V8 and vehicles dynamics systems, the Spider combines driving thrill with timeless elegance. To ensure top-down driving comfort, there is a patented wind deflector installed in the rear seat backrest. Identical to most Ferraris, Roma Spider also powers up with an instantaneous throttle response because of specific solutions, such as a flat-plane crankshaft, which is more compact in size with lower rotating masses to improve fluid-dynamics; compact turbines which have a lower moment of inertia; twin-scroll technology that directs the exhaust gases from each cylinder through separate scrolls and increases the pressure of the exhaust pulses for maximum power; and a single-piece, cast exhaust manifold with equal length pipes to optimise pressure waves in the turbine and reduce losses.
Designed by head of the Ferrari Styling Centre, Flavio Manzoni, the fesh new Ferrari Roma model embodies the “La Nuova Dolce Vita” concept in a whole new way. For the exerior, a clean approach has been taken—its proportions are standard, the volume is very much in line with Ferrari’s front-engined GT tradition. The long front bonnet underscores the spare silhouette of the flanks—making the entire body appear dynamic and sleek. Giving the illusion that it’s created from a single block of metal, the front of the car crafts an overhanging, sharknose effect.
