Joining a group of female Emirati diplomats, Hend Al Otaiba has taken on the role as the UAE’s next ambassador to France.

While constantly championing women, this pioneer has created her niche in UAE’s diplomatic missions and is now playing a prominent role in promoting strong relations between the UAE and France.

In her latest post taken to Twitter, Al Otaiba posted an image with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum saying, “It is an honour and a privilege to be sworn in as the UAE’s next ambassador to the French Republic, in front of @HHShkMohd. The UAE-France relationship is one of the strongest and most important we have, and I will work tirelessly to advance it during my time in Paris.”

Having obtained her undergraduate degree from university in London, Al  Otaiba completed multiple Master’s degrees from universities in the UAE – the Paris Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi, as well as the UAE National Defense College.

Having always chosen public service over other arenas in her career, Al Otaiba was previously managing communications at the erstwhile Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority.

Going forward, Al Otaiba shall be presenting her diplomatic credentials to the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.

As more opportunities are on the horizon for French companies in the UAE, Al Otaiba’s role will prove noteworthy as she’s always believed in uplifting women’s role in society while forging her own path for Emirati women.

Several other leaders took their oath before Sheikh Mohammed including Dr. Iman Ahmed Mohammed Al Salami, Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Dr. Muhammad Saeed Mohammed Al Ariqi and the Ambassador to the Philippines, Mohammad Obaid Salem Al Qattam Al Zaabi and many more.
