We love a good steak here at Emirates Woman so when we heard about The Forge at Abu Dhabi’s Ritz Carlton Grand Canal, we popped on our heels and headed out for what was a sensational meal.
DÉCOR
While the interior is more masculine in style, the intimate setting and funky accessories make for an ideal modern spot to take a date. That said it’s equally as popular with the region’s trendsetters.
AMBIENCE
They’ve successfully managed to mix intimate dining with a fun and friendly atmosphere, which is not an easy feat. This is an exciting dining experience with super-talented staff who are all to happy to speak confidently about the menu.
FOOD
The open kitchen allows you to watch the skilled chefs in action. Obviously, as a steakhouse, meat is high on the agenda with a plethora of options from the US, Australia, Canada and South America. Don’t fancy a meat feast? Fear not, the succulent seafood is also top notch.
The scallop and prawn starter, encased in light puff pastry, is a real stand out with asparagus and a buttery lemon and chive sauce. The Forge salad, which is served with an impressive stack of deep fried avocado, is well worth ordering too.
Try the Australian tenderloin and the US cowboy cut, which is the one to choose if you like your steak large with loads of flavour. We opted for a chimichurri sauce and a side of duck fat roast potatoes.
To complete the meal we treated ourselves to a delicious chocolate soufflé with vanilla bean and truffle ice cream.
