We all need a session at the salon every so often, yet organising a trip around your jam-packed schedule can sometimes prove a little bit tricky.

Luckily for us, we live in the 21st century – and there are a hoard of apps, both local and international, that’ll make keeping on top of your beauty regime a treat and not a chore.

So with no further ado, here are five of our favourites.

Vaniday

vaniday

There’s a whole bundle of salons and spas in the UAE, and sometimes the sheer number of treatments on offer can feel rather overwhelming. Vaniday simplifies the booking process by listing salons and spas in your area, then showing their menu, reviews, pictures and more. And forget about then having to ring the salon of your choice – the app’s live calendar shows you all the available time slots for whichever treatment you choose, giving you the option to pay through the app or in person at the salon. Oh, and you’ll also be granted access to a number of exclusive offers and discounts at some of the UAE’s top salons.

Available on the Play and Apple store.

Pastels

If you’re a big fan of Pastels salons, this one’s for you. The app allows you to find the nearest branch to your location, and will provide you with a photo gallery so you can check out some of the salon’s work. If you’re looking for a specific stylist or therapist, there’s a ‘Meet the Team’ tab with bios and links to each person’s work. They’re looking to incorporate a ‘Book Now’ feature soon for those who’d rather sort it online than ring the store.

Available on the Play and Apple store.

BEEM

BEEM – which stands for ‘beauty emergency’ – allows you to find a salon in Dubai near you, then browse and edit your specific treatment requests and pick a convenient time. Once the salon has confirmed your booking, you’ll receive a notification. You can’t pay through the app for your treatments yet, so make sure to have cash on hand when you rock up to your appointment.

Available on the Play and Apple store.

Beautylish

beautylish

This is less of a booking app, and more of a generally helpful one. Beautylish helps you discover all the latest looks and trends, offering make-up tips and reviews on everything from hairstyles to nail designs and even bridal looks. Fancy replicating something? The app’s got step-by-step tutorial videos that’ll help you nail heaps of styles in no time. Still confused? Use the app’s forums. Any beauty question you’ve got, Beautylish answers.

Available on the Play and Apple stores.

YouCam Makeover Studio

Ever wondered what you’d look like with a different shade of lipstick? If you switched up your blush? Well, there’s an app for that. YouCam allows you to try on make-up in real-time, offering up hundreds of different looks without the hassle and wasted money of buying something that doesn’t suit you. The app also incorporates a daily horoscope, online shop, skin and face editor, as well as hairstyle, hair colour, eyes, eyebrow, lips and teeth changer.

Available on the Play and Apple stores.
