How did we spend our weekend? Glued to our screen with a bowl of chocolate Easter eggs watching Beyoncé’s Coachella documentary on Netflix, Homecoming.

To go alongside the release, she also dropped a 40 track album that featured her eldest daughter Blue Ivy singing “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by poet James Weldon Johnson.

In the documentary she shares exactly what it took to get in shape for gig after she gave birth to her twins, Rumi and Sir, and it’s not for the fainthearted. She had to cut out carbs, sugar, dairy, meat and fish. Although the diet isn’t specified, Healthline report that she could have been following vegan ketogenic diet, which is focused on moderate protein consumption, high fats, and low carbs.

“It’s my first time back home on the stage after giving birth. I’m creating my own homecoming and it’s hard,” she shares in the film. “There were days that I thought I’d never be the same, I’d never be the same physically, my strength and endurance would never be the same.”

She’s no stranger to clean eating as both her and husband Jay-Z challenged fans to become vagans in order to win free concert tickets for 30 years – yes Beyoncé still plans to perform when she’s in her sixties. The competition ends tomorrow and is in support of The Greenprint Project.

Can’t wait to see more? According to Variety, the Netflix documentary is the first of the three projects with two more films that will give further insights into Beyoncé’s life and career.
