Initial entries will be limited, reports say.

The long wait is just about over. The Dubai Frame is set to open next week.

Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality told Gulf News that the attraction would be open to the public following an official opening day.

For those who have watched the landmark’s construction since 2013, it’s very exciting news.

“It won’t be free (like Dubai Safari which gave free entry to visitors for 10days after its soft opening),” he told the site, adding that a ticketing website will be launched soon.

“The number of people allowed inside will be restricted. We can’t allow several people to go to the top of the Frame,” Lootah told Gulf News.

Earlier, Khalid Al Suwaidi, Director of Leisure Facilities at Dubai Municipality, told Khaleej Times that the opening of the Frame would be staggered from the December opening of the Dubai Safari.

Tickets will cost Dhs50 for adults, Dhs30 for kids, and there will be no charge for children under three and people of determination, the site reported.

Guests will be able to travel up the 93-metre-wide frame by elevator, before enjoying panoramic views of the city from a glass-panelled bridge that connects the two towers. Like the Burj Khalifa, you’ll need to book in advance, as access will be granted in small groups.

The Dhs160 million landmark, which was initially due to open in 2015, was designed by architect Fernando Donis (who’s also behind Dubai’s Porsche Design Towers and the Dubai Renaissance Tower).

Dubai Frame

Clad in a gold-tone stainless steel, the frame is designed to give views of both old and new Dubai.

On one side, visitors can look out over of the older parts of the city, such as Deira, Umma Harare and Karama, and on the other the vistas are of a more modern, built-up section of Dubai.

The attraction will also feature a museum on the ground floor that showcases Dubai’s transformation from fishing village to the metropolis of today.

See you at the top.
