Sustainability efforts are being implemented across the board, and as women we have an opportunity to contribute by making the best of that pesky monthly visitor.
According to reports, an average woman has her period for 2535 days of her life and gets through approximately 14,000 tampons in that timeframe. Sanitary pads and tampons also produce around 100 billion pieces of waste on annual basis, meaning that about 27,938 used tampons and applicators can be found on the world’s beaches daily. Not only that but 90 percent of sanitary products are made from plastic and are not biodegradable.
Luckily, there are a number of brands who have introduced eco-friendly sanitary products that are hygienic and safe to use. It’s early days but we can start making a difference, one period at a time.

They are made from comfortable materials and come in a variety of designs, making having your period that little bit more fun. They also create organic cotton period underwear that hold 2 tampons’ worth of flow.
