On her recent trip to Dubai, Founder and Creative Director Marla Aaron hosted a playful and immersive experience — showcasing the transformational dynamism of her pieces for the debut of the eponymous brand’s pop-up installation in THAT Concept Store, Mall of the Emirates.

How do you curate the stack for a personalized and effortless approach?
Layering is a personal love story. It is an art, a mastery. It is a personal relationship between you and your jewellery. There are no fundamental rules. You do you. Personally, I like my layering high and tight or very long. But everyone can do anything.
What are the current jewellery styles and pieces to try and add to the stack?
A weighty gold chain (ours could be the Handmade Biker or Heavy Curb) at a length of at least 24″ with a diamond Lock. With these two pieces, you open a world. It can be worn as a bracelet wrapped on the wrist, or as a necklace. One can hang charms on it. Worn as a lariat, combined with other chains. It provides endless possibilities and is more than the sum of its parts. It is a thing that stands the test of time and that itself is a modern concept.
How do you elevate your summer looks from day to night with jewellery?
The part I love best about our jewellery is that I am not the final word. What you end up doing with it inspires what I do with it. If you owned our convertible earrings I would change out lozenges for a pair of Fordite discs — they pack a powerful, elegant punch.
One thing to look forward to in New York every summer?
That many people leave on the weekends and the city is quiet and enjoyable.
The best way to spend a lazy summer day in New York…
Any of the above would make for a great lazy summer day or just stay in bed.
What would be your fondest summer memory in New York?
The one time my mother let me run through the fire hydrants with the other children on the streets. Only once, but I loved it.
A must-have summer accessory?
Frozen lemonade with a tiny bit of lemon peel–this is my favorite.
