And so the story began, from 1pm on a Friday afternoon, on a rooftop terrace in Dubai Media City a new brunch was launched.
DECOR
Story is a breath of fresh air on the Dubai brunch scene. Unlike most of your identikit restaurants in the region it has it’s own style, which is youthful, modern and incredibly artistic with fabulous murals. Party with a group of friends at one of the long social tables or keep it more private in one of the many chic alcoves – you can choose your experience. Alternatively take a table on the terrace and embrace the views of the emirate.
However, if booking brunch with a group, we suggest booking a table indoors as terrace tables face outwards meaning only one side of the table can be used, making it tricky to mingle with the entire crowd – you’re at the mercy of the people to your left and right.
AMBIENCE
It’s certainly a hub for the trendy crowd looking for an alternative experience in the UAE. The atmosphere is vibrant with an emphasis on kicking back and being yourself.
FOOD
The selection is limited and set out in a relaxed buffet style. That said the ceviche is highly recommended. Fish dishes are what they do best. The drinks package is very generous with most house beverages on offer. Be prepared to ditch your expat brat attitude here – you go to the bar and to get served, which we did see as a bonus as the lack of table service means you actually get up and explore the restaurant.
