Another sunny weekend has passed by in Dubai and I made a promise to myself that this weekend wasn’t going to be filled with the same shoe shopping/wardrobe tidying/beach session and ridiculously long lunch that it usually is.

As is it custom, a little bit of shopping had to be involved so as I usually shop for my wardrobe, I thought that Maison Serin could do with a bit of a facelift so I set out to some of my favourite haunts to add some flair to my favourite place, my home.

FRIDAY

I love this section in Bloomingdales Home (near Magnolia) It has so many eclectic things for the house at super reasonable prices, its also the perfect place to find gifts for fabulous friends.

Ok, I couldn’t resist and who could? This crocodile necklace from the Anna Dello Russo for H&M collection is too fab for words – I got the matching bracelet too.

Not exactly home décor but much needed just the same. A visit to see Carlo at Nespresso at The Dubai Mall is always fun albeit filling as I have to try all the new coffee flavours in-store.

Not wanting to spend the entire day in the mall, next on the list was a carpet for the sitting room. My husband had found Al-Madaen Carpet Trading in Satwa (near the Iranian hospital) a week earlier and I fell in love with everything – especially this bag that can also be used as a casual seat

After purchasing a stunning carpet, a quick catch up on emails before heading home.

SATURDAY

A pit stop at Mall of the Emirates was necessary for bed linen and this set by Ralph Lauren Home at Harvey Nichols was on top of my list

I also fell in love with this sofa but alas, it doesn’t fit the style of our saloon so next stop was Crate & Barrel where I sat on every chair possible but still left empty handed.

A quick shoe-change and I was off the Al Warsan, the only place to buy plants in Dubai (just past Desert Palm) An oasis in the desert, you will find 20 or 30 plant stores with every variety of plant you can imagine. I bought a couple of indoor plants and will show you the results soon!
