“I’d rather have a wedding at home than anywhere else.”

Rumours are swirling that she’ll get married next month, and as Bollywood royalty, you might expect Sonam Kapoor to opt for a pretty luxurious affair.

According to recent interview with The National, though, that’s the furthest thing from her mind.

When asked about her ideal wedding, 32-year-old Kapoor said it was more about the rest of her life than about one party.

“I think the whole idea of a marriage is more appealing to me than a wedding,” she told The National.

“I think there is too much money spent; it’s all very crass, and I would rather give that money away. I’d rather have a wedding at home than anywhere else,” Kapoor continued.

Back in March, the Mumbai Mirror reported that she would wed her beau of two years, entrepreneur Anand Ahuja, in a two-day Hindu ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland, in May.

Instead of a lavish party, Kapoor’s hypothetical wedding sounds simple and down to Earth.

“I think it’s important to do all the rituals, but I don’t believe in spending all that money,” she told The National.

“I find it disgusting and very wasteful, and I’m not okay with that at all.”

Kapoor was in Dubai just last week for a series of events with IWC, a luxury Swiss watch manufacturer she promotes.

Accompanied by her sister, Rhea Kapoor, the actress looked stunning in a number of Middle East designed outfits.
