With a keen passion for horses, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is always front and centre at the annual Dubai World Cup.
This year was no different as 2022 marked the biggest instalment of the prestigious event since the pandemic began, having been cancelled in 2020 and a scaled-back event occurred in 2021.
However, this year’s festivities were bigger and better than ever, and some of the attendees were even more adorable than ever.
Naturally, His Highness entered the Meydan Racecourse with a large entourage, much of which were his family including son His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, but it was one particular individual who stole the show, despite being the youngest and smallest of the group.
Caught on camera, the Dubai Ruler was flanked, and somewhat led into, the Dubai World Cup by none other than his grandson, Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal Al Qassimi, the eldest child of his daughter Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Chairperson of Dubai Culture and her husband Sheikh Faisal bin Saud bin Khalid Al Qassimi.
In the photos, which were shared by Sheikha Latifa on her Instagram, Sheikh Mohammed stands front and centre whilst at the Meydan Racecourse with his grandson right by his side, showcasing the ever doting grandfather His Highness is.
In another snap, as Sheikh Mohammed and his entourage walk by the track, Mohammed bin Faisal is firmly beside his grandfather’s side, appearing to take in all of the atmosphere.
In other photos shared, Sheikh Hamdan is also seen being a doting uncle to his nephew.
The Dubai Ruler and all other attendees no doubt were pleased to see the annual Dubai World Cup back once again, as they cheered on the competitors to victory.
It was American horse Country Grammer who took home the top prize, a great win for jockey Frankie Dettori and trainer Bob Baffert, whom were presented their trophies by Dubai’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan.
