The two royals chatted on the trackside in the British capital over the weekend…
They’re both keen equestrians as well as rulers, so finding common talking points shouldn’t be too difficult for Queen Elizabeth II and HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The British monarch and the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai were pictured in a tête-à-tête over the weekend, with both royals looking rather tickled by their conversation.
The rulers were attending the Royal Windsor Endurance Race, a 120-kilometre horse-racing feat that took place in the UK on Friday.

A rider from the UAE – Saeed Al Khayari – even claimed first place in the race, finishing in four hours and 47 minutes, while the second and third places were also taken out by Emirati athletes.
Around 60 jockeys took part in the race overall, with eight competitors from the UAE.
Sheikh Mohammed and his son, Crown Prince of Dubai HH Sheikh Hamdan, travelled to the UK to support the Emirati jockeys, where they caught up with Queen Elizabeth on the race’s sidelines.

Whatever they talked about, it looks like at least one joke was cracked judging by the royals’ wide smiles.
This isn’t the first time HH Sheikh Mohammed and Queen Elizabeth II have shared an encounter – as keen equestrians, they’ve often crossed paths at prominent races, such as Royal Ascot.
HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein even dedicated a length Instagram post to the British monarch on her 91st birthday last month.
“Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is the world’s longest reigning monarch, but it is not the duration of her reign that sets Her Majesty far ahead and apart from others, it is the fact that Her Majesty has reigned through times of both incredible change and turbulence, never failing to meet every challenge and adversity with unwavering energy and complete selflessness,” HRH wrote.
“She is in herself the personification of goodness, faith and values in our world.”
