His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is ensuring doctors in the UAE are being recognised for their efforts amidst the battle against the coronavirus pandemic.
It has been announced that the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai will grant “10-year golden residency visas” to doctors a part of the Dubai Health Authority who are attending “directly to COVID-19 patients, securing the well-being of our society”.
The new visa status will be granted to a group of 212 male and female doctors from the DHA, according to a post by the Dubai Media Office.

The gesture from His Highness is a “sign of thanks and appreciation from His Highness to the teams working in the frontline to ensure community safety”.
The new gold card system of long-term residency visas was launched last year, allowing expats and their families to live in the UAE without the need for a sponsor.
Subject to all approvals being made, these visas are automatically renewed, effectively making them permanent residency visas.
