After everything was turned on its head last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dubai is back, as declared by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Appearing at the Dubai Airshow – which is predicted to be one of the biggest since the event launched in 1989 – His Highness declared the UAE and Dubai were ready to “welcome everybody”.

“Today, I witnessed some of the activities of the Dubai Airshow. 148 countries, 1,200 companies and 85,000 visitors expected this year,” he said. said.

“Dubai is back again… and the global aviation sector is returning again through Dubai and the UAE. The world gathers with us in the UAE to talk about its economy, future and culture. Welcome everybody.”

With nearly 150 countries being represented at the airshow – 20 of which will make an appearance for the first time – the event is set to attract over 85,000 visitors between November 14 and November 18.

The emirate is also currently playing host to Expo 2020, where over two million visits were made to the site in its first month in October.

Similarly, the emirate is also set to host the Rugby Sevens after a year hiatus due to the pandemic.

It’s clear, just as Sheikh Mohammed said, Dubai is well and truly back.
