Today, Tuesday, January 25, 2022, marks 50 years since His Highness Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi’s ascension into the role of Ruler of Sharjah.
To mark the milestone occasion, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, congratulated his “brother” on the incredible achievement.
“Tomorrow, my brother, Sheikh Dr Sultan, will complete 50 years since [becoming the Ruler of Sharjah],” His Highness said on Monday. “He is one of the pillars of the Union [of the UAE] and a source of wisdom for science and culture.”
Sheikh Dr Sultan became the Ruler of Sharjah in 1962 and has gone on to lead the emirate into the modern age, prospering as the cultural hub of the UAE.
“God bless Sheikh Dr Sultan for his family and people,” Sheikh Mohammed added.
