This Sunday marked the return of UAE students to school across the nation.

With the summer holidays coming to a close and the new academic year starting, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, sent a message of positivity to school pupils across the country.

In particular, His Highness noted the resilience of students in their abilities to adapt to everchanging circumstances which have been brought on by the pandemic.

“As classes resume in schools across the UAE, let us say thank you to every student, teacher and parent,” he said on social media. “Your adaptability and determination to overcome recent challenges ensured that education never stopped. And it never will.

“We wish you all the best for the new academic year.”

This new academic year marks a fresh start for many students and teachers, after a year of online learning became the norm due to the pandemic.

Pupils have been slowly introduced to the classroom as COVID-19 restrictions across the country have eased. It’s an aim to have 100 per cent of students back in classrooms by the second week of the academic year beginning.
