As the world continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has declared the UAE has “overcome” the novel coronavirus and emerged “stronger”.

On Wednesday, during Qasr Al Bahr Majlis, His Highness shared some hopeful words about the UAE’s success in fighting the pandemic and how the nation has come out on the other side.

“Praise be to God for everything,” he said. “We came out of the crisis with goodness, honour, safety, health and experiences, despite its difficulty and severity, but we learned a lot from it.”

Sheikh Mohamed went on to say that despite the challenges that were posed last year to the country, the UAE has conquered the difficulties that the nation was faced with.

“The year 2020 was difficult and witnessed great challenges,” he continued. “But the UAE, thankfully, was able to be one of the first countries to emerge from the crisis… at a time when some countries faced great difficulties.”

He added, “I want to assure you of the beginning of the return of life to normal in the country, whether in work, study, or the daily habits and practices of society, taking into account the precautionary reasons and taking into account some changes in our life behaviours.”

Since August, as vaccine rates across the nation increase, daily COVID-19 cases have been dropping.
