‘The best is yet to come’

As many people across the world enter into their second month of self-isolation, the stark reality of what is going on across the world may be starting to set in, which is why people are looking to their leaders for hope.

For those in the UAE, our leaders have been regularly sending messages of encouragement and praise to the nation, including HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

The latest message of hope His Highness sent was an important one, as he spoke of his confidence in the citizens and residents of the UAE to overcome the pandemic through the “community’s compliance”.

Recapping a remote meeting he chaired with the Dubai Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management last week, His Highness took to Twitter to share the meeting was held “to get acquainted with the progress of the committee and its efforts carried out in coordination with all the specialised agencies”.

Sheikh Hamdan also took it as an opportunity to praise the nation’s people and their response to the pandemic, and the preventative measures that have been put in place.

“We trust in our community’s compliance, their awareness is what will get us through this transient time,” he said. “Our only goal now is your protection, and achieving the health and safety of all will always rank highest on our priorities.”

He also, of course, shared his unwavering support and gratitude to those on the frontline of the COVID-19 battle.

“We stand united with our frontline heroes for their eternally valued efforts,” His Highness said. “A huge thanks also goes out to all citizens and residents for their exemplary cooperation in implementing the precautionary measures taken in Dubai over the past few weeks.”

On a final note, His Highness said there is always hope and opportunities on the horizon saying he is “confident in our ability to overcome the repercussions” of the pandemic.

“The best is yet to come,” he said.
