His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, and his wife have welcomed twins – a baby boy and a baby girl.

The newborn baby boy is named Rashid and the baby girl’s name is Sheikha.

To announce the arrival of the twins, Sheikh Hamdan shared a photo on Instagram with his 11.6 million followers of a blue foot and a pink foot.

Congratulations on the arrival of the two new babies was shared on social media by many of Sheikh Hamdan’s siblings including Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, and Her Highness Sheikha Maryam.

Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of Interior and Deputy Prime Minister, also shared his congratulations on Twitter.

“I congratulate my brother His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, for the arrival of his two children (Rashid and Sheikha),” he said. “Oh God, save them with your protection … and make them the apple of the eye of their parents.”
