It’s no secret His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, is a bit of an adrenaline junkie.
From sky-diving to climbing to the top of the Burj Khalifa to parasailing, Sheikh Hamdan’s latest adrenaline-fuelled activity showcases a new Guinness World Record right here in Dubai – the world’s deepest pool, which features a “sunken city”.
Known as Deep Dive, this latest marvel in Dubai holds an incredible 14 million litres of water and has a depth of 60 metres, making it the deepest pool in the world.
Sheikh Hamdan – affectionately known as Fazza – took his 12 million followers on Instagram on a tour of the latest attraction posting a video to the platform.
“An entire world awaits you at Deep Dive Dubai the world’s deepest pool, with a depth of 60 meters (196 feet),” he captioned the post.
With unrivalled facilities underwater ranging from snooker to foosball, this quirky streetscape is ready to soon welcome expert divers.
Abdulla Bin Habtoor, Deep Dive Dubai’s spokesperson said, “Deep Dive Dubai allows thrill-seekers to dive inwards and discover a new underwater dimension filled with adventure and wonder. We offer an unparalleled experience with year-round diving in a safe environment, with outstanding instructors and services.”
Ensuring everyone can experience the latest world record-breaking attraction in Dubai, there are cateorgies for all levels of divers at Deep Dive Dubai.
The Discover level is for those who wish to try a single dive or take their first steps towards certification as a diver; the Dive category allows everyone to dive within certification limits; and the Develop category is for training to both develop skills and gain scuba diving and freediving certifications that are offered by the institute.
While paying an ode to the UAE’s pearl diving heritage, this much-anticipated excursion has been recognized as the world’s deepest swimming for diving making it equivalent to six Olympic-sized swimming pools.
Located in Dubai’s Nad Al Sheba neigbourhood, Deep Dive Dubai’s pool is currently open by invitation only with public bookings opening in late July 2021. For more information visit deepdivedubai.com
We’re just as excited as Sheikh Hamdan to give this magnificent activity a try and can’t wait till its doors open.
