American artist Jeff Koons first created the 41-inch steel cast rabbit in 1986 which then went on to be sold by Christie’s in New York for over $20 million its estimate. The new owner of this iconic piece of art snapped it up in 10 minutes and 40 seconds for $91.1 million.

Koons previously held the record price for a living artist’s work for his piece Balloon Dog (Orange), but last year that title was taken by David Hockney’s Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures) which was sold for $70 million.
