Unlike last season’s swinging sixties vibe, Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent has jumped a decade and landed at the early seventies with his Psych Rock Collection for cruise 2015.
On the runway, frocks flowed freely in ditzy prints, nipped in at waists with soft leather studded belts while a heavy abundance of silver chains hung from the necks of the models. Psychedelic prints covered gilets with sheepskin trims and leather waistcoats were finished with gold fringing.
Must-have bags from the collection include the medium sac in cow hair and the bucket bag in soft patchwork suede with monogram charms and tassels – drool.
As for the footwear, if funds would allow us, we would stop by the Saint Laurent boutique this week and walk out with the entire collection. We want its all, from the 1970s-inspired blue, silver and red star lace up booties to the tan suede calf boots, the cow-girl ankle boots and the white Americana high tops.
With rock ‘n’ roll being a top 2015 trend –just look to Tommy Hilfiger and Tom Ford runways for reference – we say, jump on the bandwagon, or should we say tour bus, and get ahead of the fashion crowd.
The Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane Psych Rock Collection will be available to but in Saint Lauren boutiques from November 27.
