Family, giving back and respect for the nation’s armed forces were the underlying themes this Eid.
The region’s royals had a packed schedule this last weekend owing to the Eid celebrations.
From receiving dignitaries, to sending out congratulatory messages and finding time in between all of it to spend time with their families, the Middle East’s royals didn’t quite have the relaxed weekend like we did.

Here are some examples of how five royals from the Middle East celebrated Eid.
HH Sheikh Mohammed
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE spent time with his family. In a series of Instagram images, you can see him enjoying some time with the youngest members of the extended family who came together to celebrate Eid.

HH Sheikh Hamdan
HH Sheikh Hamdan, the Crown Prince of Dubai, took to Instagram to pay tribute to the UAE’s soldiers, many of whom were on duty and away from their families during this holiday.
He also posted an image of him wishing his father HH Sheikh Mohammed for Eid.
A few hours later, Sheikh Hamdan jetted off for to the UK for an epic six-hour bicycle ride through the countryside starting from London all the way to Bishop’s Stratford and back.
HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces led the Eid prayers on Friday at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the UAE.
The royal along with HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid shared a televised congratulatory speech to the country’s armed forces in Yemen.
He also received Eid greetings from several well-wishers at the Al Mushrif Palace.
Queen Rania
Queen Rania of Jordan, a formidable social media figure in the region, took to Instagram to share her greetings to her 4.6 million Instagram followers and 10.9million Twitter followers.
Crown Prince Hussein
It was a working day for Jordan’s young Crown Prince Hussein. Apart from posting a congratulatory Eid message on his Instagram, he also spent the day meeting with the board of trustees of the Crown Prince Foundation to check in on the progress of the foundation’s initiatives.
King Salman of Saudi Arabia
In images shared by the Saudi Press Agency, King Salman of Saudi Arabia can be seen greeting officials for Eid after offering prayers at the Makkah Grand Mosque on Friday.
Meanwhile in Jeddah, the Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also showed solidarity with the country’s armed forces and received defence ministry officials on Saturday, the second day of Eid.
