Festival-goers, it is time to mark your calendars, as the world’s biggest music and lantern festival, RiSE is coming to Dubai. The event has made a name for itself in Las Vegas as a can’t miss festival, and it is now making its regional debut on Friday, November 8.

The music, lifestyle and lantern festival will be traveling all the way from the Mojave Desert (just on the outskirts of Las Vegas) to bring visitors a visually stunning day-to-night experience. Not much have been revealed yet, including the location of the festival. But, what we do know is that it will take place at the Dubai desert and it will be a family- and community-style festival, so the kids can join in the fun.

“People want unique and incredible experiences that leave them feeling refreshed and uplifted. That’s RiSE,” said co-founder Dan Hill. “RiSE shares so much in common with the vision of Dubai that we couldn’t think of a better place on earth to host our first international festival.”

In regards to the lanterns, if you are concerned of the effects that they may have on Dubai’s desert, then worry not. The lanterns used by RiSE will be 100 percent biodegradable, and will be retrieved from the surrounding desert area after the festival. On their website, the organisers addressed this issue, writing: “We have a “leave it better than we found it” policy. Our lanterns are custom engineered to be 100% biodegradable and to have a short flight distance. After the event our cleaning crews recover all of the lanterns from the surrounding desert as well as any pre-existing litter in the area, leaving the desert cleaner than it was when we arrived.”
