Richard Mille has broken a new record in the world of horology.

Born to push barriers, the Swiss watchmaker unveiled the world’s thinnest watch with state-of-the-art design features.

By pushing the limits of watchmaking, this new watch, the RM UP-01 Ferrari,  adds up to the thickness of two credit cards, which is no more than 1.75 mm in depth.

With a noteworthy strength of calibre, this extremely thin watch is the epitome of elegance. The hours, minutes, seconds and the function selector are all housed within the delicate design to adopt a new approach to watch mechanics.

This remarkable byproduct is a culmination of 6,000 hours of dedicated time. Designed to withstand accelerations of over 5,000 Gs, ensuring a well-built design with longstanding structural capability.

Using the new patented ultra-flat escapement developed by Richard Mille and Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi, this feature allows for a reduction in thickness without sacrificing function and capability.

Without limiting the design to aesthetics, the brand went the extra mile to create both water and shock resistance features, to ensure optimal thinness with flair and functionality. In addition, the release is uber-exclusive with only 150 pieces produced worldwide.

As Ferrari continues to be an esteemed partner for the brand, this timepiece is a result of where racing meets design to allude to sporting mechanisms.
